This Week learn how to make Julian's Mince and Dumplings.
This week as we head towards the Festive Season Julian is joined in the Kitchen by Ivy The Maid who will be bending over the Oven and getting Her Dumplings Out.
I prefer to buy my Mince at Sainsway While Ivy likes to get it in Safeburys.
Ivy and myself will now proceed to make Julian's Mince and Dumplings.
Ingredients.
1lb Mince Beef, 1lb Self Raising Flour, 8oz Suet and a pinch of salt.
Method.
How to cook the Mince: Put the mince in a pan with water cop an onion..bring to the boil and then simmer for about an hour.
Mix the Flour and Suet together and form dough with cold water.
Shape into Balls (approx 10) Depending on the size of Your Balls and put on top of the Mince for about 30 mins. Or put a little of the gravy from the Mince into a shallow oven proof dish, put your dumplings in dish and bake at 350f/Gas Mark 4 for about 45mins.
After this time you should find that you have a Soggy Bottom and a Crispy Top.
